FOUND AROUND FRIDAY: Leisurely Stroll Edition

Did you see the giveaway?
There’s still time to enter right here.

I mentioned in the giveaway post that we should take a leisurely stroll through some older posts and then ended up just getting right to the point of the giveaway – ha!

So, let’s take that stroll through some posts of yore now . . .

I wrote about J Herbin Gris Nuage way back in 2012. I finally got my bottle of it a couple of months ago.

My first Lamy Safari.

I loved this now-discontinued ink.

One of my most-read posts was this review of Diamine Grey. It was also the beginning of spam posts for me. I saw it as a positive thing – at least someone was reading!

I’m so glad that this post about fake Montblanc Starwalker Fountain Pens at Costco has seen so much traffic. Buyer beware!

I love this pen. Seriously.

I didn’t think I’d like Noodler’s Liberty’s Elysium, but I ended up loving it.

Earlier this year, I met Susan Wirth at the LA Pen Show. She complimented my handwriting!

Diamine Flamingo Pink shades from pink to orange. How do they do that?

I sometimes look at this post and even pull the original sheet of Tomoe River Paper because it makes me that happy.

And finally, one post from Instagram . . .

In closing, I want to thank you. These last two years of blogging have been wonnnnderful. I’ve made some good friends and have learned so much.  Thank you. Thank you.

I hope you have a wonderfully lazy weekend filled with lots of things you want to do.

FOUND AROUND FRIDAY: What I’m Reading and Instagram Edition

Earlier this week, I reached a whopping 900 Followers on Instagram.  I hope you’re one of them. I usually just have a list of links for you on Friday mornings. I’m going to sprinkle in some images this time.  Oh yeah, it’s getting wild and crazy here, people. You never know what I’ll do next 😉

On with the show . . .

Last night, Edison Pen Company announced their 2014 Limited Edition. Are you in? I’m a maybe.

Inkophile has the cutest watercolor paint tin!

Fountain Pen Physicist reviewed Leuchttrum’s Journal.  I have a couple of their products, but have never tried them – crazy. I need to get on that!  And I can’t even talk about this.

Gourmet Pens reviews the Pilot Knight.  And..this.

I have a review coming soon – DeAtramentis Jasmine. Have you tried it?

I ordered mine.  And…omg. And…a new gray/grey ink!

Fun from Inkdependence.  I’ve played with doing this – just not like this.

Inklode is killing me.  I have around half a bottle left.

Kaweco review from MyCoffeePot.

Peninkcillin talks about a stained Kaweco and the DC Pen Show.

Pens! Paper! Pencils! reviews a Diplomat fountain pen. I once had a well-known person in the pen world try to tell me that within a few years, Diplomat would overtake Montblanc as the finest pen maker in the world.  Yeah, ok. That was 5+ years ago.

Mr. Mike Dudek of ClickyPost shows off his new Pelikan. I need it.

Quick fact for you:  Alexander Hamilton was not a president, but his ink sure is pretty.

The Pen Addict reviews a glorious thing. (I agree.)

Unroyal Warrant fills a new Penvelope. And this!

In other and unrelated news, I’ve started reading this blog.  I’m fascinated – not in a good way.

Have a great weekend, friends!

A reminder that I’m giving away a couple of Apica Notebooks.  Go enter to win.

Here’s what I’ve been reading with interest this week . . .

Is your handwriting average?

Pen Addict takes a quick look at the Parker Jotter 60th (!!) Anniversary Ballpoint Pen.

Dudek Modern Goods has a Summer Sale going on. Highly recommended.

PenINKcillin shows us how to disassemble a Lamy Z24 Converter. You’ll want to bookmark this post if you own a Lamy.

MyCoffeePot started a new pen blog.

I think Mr. Pentulant wants this pencil. He’s a mathlete, you know.

Finally, a couple of things from my Instagram.

Terrible little dog bumped my hand . . . .

Celebrating IndePENdence Day . . .

Montblanc Heritage 1912 Fountain Pen

It’s Friday and that means another installment of what I’ve been reading lately.

But first – the above picture is my fancy new pen. A full blown review is coming Monday – be sure to check back. Spoiler: I’m in love.

On to some long overdue link love . . .

FP Quest lists Five Favorite Modern Fountain Pens

FP Geeks were talking an awful lot about Nakaya.  Here, here, and here.  (Temptation is running high, folks!)

I’ve been trying brush pens with little success. (OMG, it’s ugly.) I came across this blog post over on Jet Pens and have decided that maybe I need better tools. Different tools. We’ll see.

Brian Goulet interviewed Nathan Tardif of Noodler’s Pens. It’s informative, entertaining, and . . . interesting.

I’m in love with My Supply Room. Maybe not these pens – wrestlers? Really?

No Pen Intended reviews Da Vinci stone paper – a Kickstarter project.

Finally, those who have been reading here for awhile (hi, honey) know that I love me some Instagram. It’s fast, easy, and fun – and you need to not only follow me, but also follow this great group of visual bloggers . . .

Have a great weekend!

A bowl full of Lamy Safari Fountain Pens

If you’ve been reading here for awhile (thank you!), you probably know that I’m a huge fan of Instagram. I have so much to share that blogging would be a full-time gig for me if I didn’t have Instagram to share quick pics with you!

Here’s a look at what I’ve been up to . . .

I’d written that found the notebook below, but didn’t know how I was going to use it. That “problem” has been solved! Mr. Pentulant and I use it for our (almost) daily letters back and forth to each other. Awwww.

The years teach us much which the days never knew. -Emerson

Some pretty Lamy Safari Fountain Pens from my collection

A gift for Mr. Pentulant. If you’ve not gotten one of these from Dudek Modern Goods, you should.

Our sweet nephew started crawling. Help!

How sweet is this?

I went to Seattle and accidentally found this. I don’t want to talk about it.

Fountain Pens to match my kitchen towel. Living fancy!

Midori Travelers Notebook (MTN) with a bit of customization

The view from our local Target store. CRAZY.

Settlers of Catan

I learned a new trick

Franklin-Christoph Model 02 – eyedropper style!

Now that I’ve convinced you to follow me on Instagram, here are some other wonderful people you should be following:

Fountain Pen Feeds on Instagram + Some From My Feed

Sailor 1911
Kyo Maki-e Fountain Pen

I’ve had the above pen (mine in the Chrysanthemum design) forever and only recently inked it. Oh my goodness, I don’t know why I waited so many years to give it a go. I’m in serious love with this pen. I filled it with Noodler’s Black (my go to for new pens) and it’s pretty terrific.  (By the way, I love a little nib creep – the smearing you see is from wiping after filling, not crazy nib creep.)

Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pen

Two Rose Gold Fountain Pens

I’m a believer.

Imagine That!

Montblanc Winter Glow Ink

Pelikan Edelstein Amber Ink

That’s me on Instagram.

And here are some others that regularly post fountain pens on Instagram.

I’m seeing a definite trend.  Ink reviews on the blog. Pen porn over on Instagram. It wasn’t even on purpose – it’s just so easy. And it doesn’t feel like it has to be perfect.
