I first saw this pen on the Instagram feed of my friend @mycoffeepot and knew I had to have it.
The incredible sheen and depth of color (chatoyance!), the organized geometric design of the resin, and the mini size was just too much to pass up. I hopped right over to eBay to find my own Parker Duofold (this one is the demi/mini/small version).
The arrow clip is so iconic!
The pen arrived in a luxury box and included a 6-pack of Parker mini cartridges. I quickly popped one into the pen was excited to start writing.
It started out great! The nib was smooth, but not slippery. Flow was great. It was everything I expected – as indicated by the sweet heart I drew. Ha.
And then this happened . . . Yikes.
I even tried another paper brand . . .
I really thought this was heading for Major Trouble and started going through my checklist of possible issues/solutions. And that’s when I realized – in my excitement to start writing, I hadn’t cleaned the pen first and we’re supposed to always, always, always clean new pens before we use them. (Except I never do because I’m Pentulant like that.)
I gave it a good cleaning, let it (mostly) dry, and started again . . .
Nice! Let’s see what else it can do . . .
Whew! Cleaning is just what the nibmeister ordered for this pen! I’ve since written with it a bunch and haven’t seen even a hint of the problems shown above.
MyCoffeePot mentioned on Instagram and his blog that this is one of the best fine nibs he’s written with. I’m going to agree.
Some thoughts . . .
I would say that the Parker Duofold Demi is a terrific pen. It’s beautiful, writes great, is comfortable in the hand, and I love the size (thought some may find it too small).
But…and this is a Big But…the pen only uses cartridges. Proprietary cartridges. The ink isn’t bad – Parker inks are classic and known for being “well-behaved.” The issue is that the user is definitely limited in terms of ink options. Others have tried to find a converter that will work, but none have been successful. There is the option of emptying the Parker cartridge and filling with another ink using a syringe. When this blue cartridge is empty, that’s probably what I’ll be doing. Not a huge thing – not something that would make me unlove this pen – but something to be aware of.
Bottom Line: I real dig this pen despite the issue of proprietary cartridges!
So tell me….do you clean your pens before using them the first time? ..would you buy a pen that only takes proprietary cartridges?
Thanks for sharing. I read many of your blog posts, cool, your blog is very good.

DoubleTake is an app created by the same developers behind FiLMiC Pro, but this one focuses on letting users shoot a video using two iPhone cameras at the same time. The app was highlighted by Apple at the iPhone 11 Pro launch event in 2019. However, there are many apps available on this device, and we are here to help you see it a little more clearly. The best video editor app is Mojo for iOS. Why? Which are the features of Mojo, the video editor available on iPhone? The answer is here. Budget is also a factor. Many video editor apps are available free, however others require a subscription or one-off purchase to gain access to additional tools and features. You’ll also want to check if the app includes or supports any of the best VFX software to help make your videos pop. FilmoraGo is a free, powerful, easy-to-use video editor app that’s available for Android and iOS – and it’s one of the best Android video editor apps around, in our opinion. Share to social apps with just one tap, add stunning effects, use the keyframe animation tool, trim and cut videos – and much more. This app does brand videos with its own watermark, but to create and share videos without a watermark and remove ads, you can upgrade to the Pro version from $6.99 a month or $32.99 a year.
The Return to Player percentage of most of the games in the Big Bass series is quite high, at over 96%. For example, Big Bass Splash and Big Bass Bonanza both have an RTP of 96.71%. A few of the other games like Big Bass Day at the Races have a very slightly lower RTP, at around 96.07%. The Big Bass series has seen more than a dozen releases since its inception, starting with the original Big Bass Bonanza in December 2020. Following its success, Pragmatic Play expanded the series to include variations like Big Bass Bonanza Megaways and Christmas-themed slots such as Big Bass Christmas Bash, showcasing the series’ adaptability and appeal. This can lead to 4,000 times bet max wins which can be won in the Free Spins feature as a whole. It’s nearly double the amount in Big Bass Bonanza (2,100 x bet max wins). The RTP rate of 96.71% is the same in both slots but the max win probability is a lot better in Bigger Bass Bonanza. Below is a table highlighting the differences and similarities between the 2 slot games:

Adobe Premiere established itself as a leading video-editing software tool back when users had to visit a brick-and-mortar store to purchase a physical disc to install software on a PC. However, the emergence of popular short-form social media platforms, such as TikTok, has highlighted the need for on-the-go video editing — and Adobe is now making that task possible. And also like Photoshop for smartphones, Premiere mobile isn’t the first Adobe video editor that works on smartphones. Premiere Rush is a scaled-down version of Premiere Pro designed for streamlined edits with a lower learning curve that works across desktop and mobile. Look out, CapCut: Adobe’s popular Premiere Pro desktop video editor will get a miniaturized mobile version this fall The company said that Premiere on iPhone will let users edit videos and export them without any watermarks. The app will have some of the same features as its desktop version, including the ability to trim, layer, and fine-tune frames. It will also have automatic captions with stylized subtitles, support for video, audio, and text layers, as well as support for 4K HDR.
Select Save as Copy to save the modified video, or select the drop down next to it and Save the video to overwrite the original video. Microsoft calls its video editing software, Clipchamp, “the easy video editor.” And it really is! I especially like that it can create voice-overs, but not just any — text to speech can be AI-generated, so you don’t have to do it yourself. AI-powered videos are also available; just give it your clips, choose a style and length, and see how powerful this video editor can be. Whatever comes of the Clipchamp acquisition, it won’t be included in the initial version of Windows 11 when it’s released on October 5. But Microsoft’s Panos Panay shared a brief teaser video of a revamped Windows 11 Photos app, which may at least improve upon the barebones version in Windows 10.
